What is boswellic acid?
Boswellia , also called olibanum, is an aromatic resin obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia The extract of boswellic acid is dry gum resin, mostly small papillary, teardrop like particles or irregular small pieces. Its main functions are promoting blood circulation and relieving pain, generating muscle to stop itching, detoxification and detumescence. Boswellia serrata contains boswellic acids which have been shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory and antiarthritic properties.
